Murder trial set to begin in Calhoun County
Farnhamville man charged in 17-year-old girl’s death
ROCKWELL CITY — The first-degree murder trial of Nathaniel Bevers McGivney will begin Tuesday in Calhoun County District Court.
Bevers-McGivney, 22, of Farnhamville, is charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the Sept. 23, 2024, murder of 17-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson at the Farnhamville City Park.
According to law enforcement, Jackson was reported missing by her mother on Sept. 22 when she didn’t return home after visiting the city park. While searching, Jackson’s mother and sister saw Bevers-McGivney with Jackson’s scooter and other personal items and reported it to law enforcement. Jackson’s body was found the next day.
Bevers-McGivney waived his right to a jury trial in June and instead will appear before only a judge as part of a bench trial.
