Lundberg promoted within FDPD
New officer hired Monday
The Fort Dodge Police Department has a new captain and a new patrol officer.
Matt Lundberg was promoted from lieutenant to captain. He will lead the department’s criminal investigations division. He replaces Steve Hanson, who resigned to become police chief in Webster City.
Lundberg has been a city police officer since August 2008. He has served as a patrolman, patrol sergeant, lieutenant in the criminal investigations division and most recently as a lieutenant in charge of a patrol shift. Additionally, he is an operator and sniper in the Special Emergency Response Team. He is a pistol, rifle and shotgun instructor.
He is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and has completed two leader courses offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, He has a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in Ames.
Lucas Segebart is the newest member of the Police Department. He is a native of Denison who has both an associate of applied arts and associate of applied science degrees in criminal justice from Iowa Central Community College. He will go to the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy next month.
