Fort Dodge man arrested for firing gun
A Fort Dodge man is in custody after police say he fired a gun multiple times into the air Saturday.
Benjamin Crouse, 21, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon and is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, and reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor, after authorities say he fired a handgun multiple times in the air near the Westridge Townhomes on Avenue M West in Fort Dodge.
According to Fort Dodge Police Chief Dennis Quinn, after firing the gun, Crouse then took off running. He was later taken into custody at 372 Ave. M West.
Crouse is scheduled to appear before a judge today.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, the Special Emergency Response Team, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
