FDCSD continues positive financial track

Board approves student handbooks

Continuing a positive track to the end of the 2024-25 fiscal year highlighted the July 23 meeting of the Fort Dodge Community School District Board.

According to Superintendent Josh Porter, Financial Director Brandon Hansel told the board that everything remained on track during June.

“We still have a couple of more months for some adjustment work on the financials,” Porter said. “However, everything Brandon discussed indicates we are doing very well.”

In a pair of action items, the board:

• Approved resurfacing the middle and high school tracks. “This needs to be done to get through the next couple of years before we can completely re-do them,” Porter said. The resurfacing will be a clear coat substance that will give both surfaces a needed refresh.

• Approved the second reading of Board Exhibits 704.06-E(1). This deals with reworking some of the district’s fundraising applications.

• Approved the 2025-26 student handbooks.

The next meeting of the FDSCD Board is at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 11.

Starting at $4.94/week.
