Delivery truck hits Riverside Tavern
Business back open after electrical, fire damage
LEHIGH — Riverside Tavern was closed Tuesday afternoon after a delivery truck caused an electrical surge and fire.
According to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Angelo Miller, 27, of Fort Dodge, was backing up a Northern Lights delivery truck to the bar Tuesday afternoon when he hit an electrical pole. The crash caused a power surge which somehow opened a gas line and started a small fire.
According to Webster County Chief Deputy Derek Christie, the fire was quickly put out with both the Lehigh and Duncombe fire departments responding.
Riverside Tavern received some electrical damage and minimal fire damage, which caused it to close for a period of time Tuesday evening, but it re-opened later in the evening
