Webster City man arrested on drug offenses
Smith admitted to police that he sold drugs
WEBSTER CITY — A Webster City man is behind bars following a lengthy investigation by the Webster City Police Department into suspected drug trafficking.
According to Police Sgt. Eric McKinley, Dalton Jamison Keith Smith, 30, was arrested Thursday at 1030 Third St. During the execution of a search warrant at the residence, a significant amount of firearms and illegal substances including cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, various prescription pills, as well as drug paraphernalia and scales were seized, police reported
According to police, Smith admitted to officers at the scene that he also had approximately one pound and an ounce of marijuana and that he sold the drugs.
Smith has been charged with two counts of controlled substance violation, according to court records. Magistrate Justin T. Deppe set bond at $10,000 cash or surety.
A preliminary hearing has been set for June 3.
The Webster City Police Department is asking residents with any information related to this case or other drug activity to contact law enforcement.
