‘Top-tier entertainment, close to home’

Iowa Central to announce performing arts series

By KELLI BLOOMQUIST

Iowa Central Community College’s newly renovated Center for Performing Arts and Decker Auditorium will soon be filled with the sights and sounds of world-class entertainment from across the globe as the college has announced a new performing arts series.

“This is top-tier entertainment, close to home,” said Brady O’Brien, coordinator for the Center for Performing Arts.

The inaugural performing arts series will feature 10 performances from nationally touring artists, Broadway-caliber productions, artists from the United Kingdom, and renowned comedians.

“I am beyond excited to share this new era of an entertainment opportunity with Fort Dodge and surrounding communities,” said O’Brien. “Building a series from scratch comes with its challenges and setbacks, but thankfully I have an incredible team here at Iowa Central that is dedicated to making this first season a reality and in hopes, a true success.”

According to O’Brien, the names of those acts will be announced at 7 p.m. May 27 during a special season announcement party featuring Iowa Central President Jesse Ulrich, guest speakers Sam Reeves-Grady, and O’Brien, as well as entertainment from Iowa Central alumni Alyssa Allbee, Mason O’Brien, and Reese Pederson, and Iowa Central staff Jarred Benson, Brady O’Brien, and from Jake Rossow, as well as previews of each show for the 2025-2026 season. The season announcement party is open to the general public.

“I can’t wait to share each show that we have been planning for this inaugural 2025-26 season,” said O’Brien. “I have thoroughly enjoyed researching a multitude of groups and artists. In every email, promo video, and tech rider, I get to envision how each act could inspire and entertain our community. It is hard to keep all these incredible acts locked in a filing cabinet, and I am very excited to announce each act on May 27.”

At the announcement party, O’Brien said patrons can purchase season tickets at a discounted rate available only that evening.

Season tickets will be available in an all-inclusive season package with tickets to every show or the opportunity to purchase a select season package featuring four to six shows. A discounted presale will run until June 3. General public tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. June 10. Group tickets will also be available for families and friends looking to attend a show together.
