New route planned for Frontier Days parade

A construction project is prompting a new route for the Frontier Days parade this year.

Traditionally, the parade has progressed west down Central Avenue from 15th Street to the City Square.

However, the intersection of Central Avenue and 12th Street is closed because storm sewers are being replaced there.

So the June 7 parade will form up on the City Square, according to Jeana Becker, chairwoman of the Frontier Days Committee. She said it will head east on First Avenue North, turn south on 11th Street and then go west on Central Avenue back to the City Square.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. June 7.

Starting at $2.99/week.
