Butler Elementary School in Fort Dodge will have a new principal when classes begin next fall.

Laura Resnick has been named the new principal, according to an announcement from the Fort Dodge Community School District.

She will replace Jessica Kruckenberg, who is resigning and moving out of state.

Resnick was most recently the student success coordinator for the Storm Lake Community School District and also served as a school improvement facilitator for the Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency.

“I am honored to join the Butler Elementary team,” Resnick said in a written statement. “I look forward to working together with our teachers, staff and families to build a school culture that celebrates achievement, encourages personal growth and nurtures the whole child.”

She began her career as a Spanish and English Language Learner teacher in Kent, Ohio. She later worked as an instructional coach and literacy specialist with the Tigard-Tualatin School District in Oregon.

She earned Master’s degrees in education and school leadership from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, and Dordt University in Sioux Center.

Starting at $2.99/week.
