Law enforcement vehicles and a fire truck were in the 1400 block of Third Avenue South Friday evening following an incident that involved a large fight, a man with minor injuries and possible drunk driving. Fort Dodge police were called to the 100 block of South 14th Street at about 7:30 p.m. for a report of a large fight. Police Lt. Matt Lundberg said a group of juveniles were fighting and the father of one of them got into the middle of it and suffered a superficial cut. A vehicle seen leaving the area was stopped in the 1400 block of Third Avenue South. Lundberg said the driver of that vehicle fought with the officers. That driver is now being investigated for operating while under the influence, he said. He said four people were arrested. The man with the cut was treated at the scene by paramedics. A young child in the car that was stopped was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center to be checked out. Webster County sheriff’s deputies and the Fort Dodge Fire Department also responded to the incident.
