Georgia-Pacific donates to local nonprofits

Georgia-Pacific donated Brawny paper towels to several local nonprofit organizations. GP employees helped distribute the donations.

Georgia-Pacific Gypsum. a division of Koch Industries that has a wallboard plant in Fort Dodge, recently made a unique and useful donation to several area non-profit organizations.

An additional division of this corporation produces Brawny paper towels. Located in southeastern Fort Dodge, the Georgia-Pacific wallboard manufacturing plant was recently provided with a semitrailer full of Brawny paper towels. The company provided all employees with multiple packages, and also donated to several local charities.

Recipients included the Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, United Way, the Beacon of Hope, Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa, Book Club, PAWS of Greene County, and the Webster City Cat Hut. Volunteers from these organizations, as well as GP employees, came out to help load multiple pallets which were also shared with others in the community.

Georgia-Pacific has a rich history in Fort Dodge’s manufacturing industrial base. In addition to the gypsum quarry, the manufacturing plant located on Mill Road, employing approximately 125 people, produces multiple lines of wallboard which is shipped throughout the region.
