Fugitive arrested in Humboldt

Moe had warrants in multiple Iowa counties

HUMBOLDT — An Algona man on the run from authorities and wanted in multiple Iowa counties was arrested Friday afternoon in Humboldt.

Zaden Ryan Moe, 24, was arrested following a joint investigation by the Humboldt Police Department and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

The Humboldt County dispatch received a tip that Moe was at a residence in Humboldt. Officers confirmed active warrants in Story County for probation violation – control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender, five mittimus warrants for violation of no-contact orders from Kossuth County, and a warrant in Black Hawk County for failure to appear on probation violations related to domestic assault.

When officers approached Moe’s residence Friday, he fled through a window and attempted to escape on foot. Humboldt County Sheriff K9 Rooster was deployed and apprehended Moe. During the arrest, pill bottles containing controlled substances were recovered. Officers also received information about multiple assaults involving Moe from Thursday evening.

According to authorities, Moe was medically evaluated and transported to the Humboldt County Jail where, in addition to his outstanding warrants, he now also faces charges of interference with official acts causing bodily injury, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, two counts of assault causing injury, and false imprisonment.

Moe remains in the Humboldt County Jail.
