Detours, zoning on supervisors’ agenda

Bids for air conditioners to be discussed

The Webster County Board of Supervisors is expected to discuss two detour agreements with the Iowa Department of Transportation as well as installation of stop signs on 390th Street at its Tuesday meeting.

The detour agreements submitted by the DOT will use Webster County Routes P29, D60 and P33 as a temporary detour during a bridge replacement project on Iowa Highway 175, as well as a detour route on D14, P59, and C56 during a bridge replacement project on U.S. Highway 169.

The supervisors will also place on file the resignation of Deena McCaulley, budget and finance director for Webster County. McCaulley has taken a position outside of the Webster County Courthouse.

The supervisors are also expected to adopt the final consideration of a zoning change from general commercial to urban residential for an abandoned church property in Burnside. The church, located at 30559 249th Ave., has been purchased by Chad and Marsha Halbach, who plan to remodel it into a single family dwelling.

The supervisors are also expected to discuss bids for installation of air conditioners for the Law Enforcement Center’s Communications Center. Midstate Plumbing and Heating, Johnson Controls, and Orres & Gailey all submitted bids for the project.

The farm contracts between Webster County and Jeff Allen and Cannon Bleam will be separately discussed by the supervisors.

The Webster County Board of Supervisors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Webster County Courthouse.

Starting at $2.99/week.
