Check-in time changed at Fort Dodge airport
Passengers with carry-on bags will be impacted
People flying out of Fort Dodge Regional Airport with just a carry-on bag will have to start getting there earlier.
Starting Tuesday, those travelers will have to be at the airport at least 45 minutes before departure time, according to an announcement from the airport.
Previously, those passengers could check in 30 minutes before departure time.
“We wanted to get this out there since it will impact travelers who usually fly with just a carry-on or personal item and are used to the old 30 minute cutoff time,” said Rhonda Chambers, the airport’s director of aviation. “We want everyone to have a smooth trip and help prevent them from missing their flight.”
According to the announcement, the change is being implemented to create consistency for passengers and United Airlines employees. It is also being done to maximize the amount of time customer service representatives have to assist passengers.
