Fort Dodge won silver in this year’s Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser for Special Olympics Iowa.

According to Fort Dodge Police Chief Dennis Quinn, officers raised $3,364.79 at the event on Friday at Dunkin’ Donuts, 2520 Fifth Ave. S.

Cedar Falls was the gold medal winner, raising $3,849.03.

“This couldn’t have happened without the support of each and every one of you that stopped by and gave a donation,” said Quinn. “We hope you all know just how amazing our community truly is.”

Personnel from the Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol were at the shop from 6 a.m. to noon Friday to collect the donations. Donors received coupons for doughnuts and coffee.
