The Iowa Central Community College career fair that had to be postponed because of severe winter weather will be held Wednesday.

It will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Career Education Building on the Fort Dodge campus.

With more than 100 businesses expected to be in attendance, this event provides an opportunity for students, alumni and the general public to explore career possibilities and connect with potential employers.

Attendees do not need to pre-register. They can check in at the door, where they will receive a name tag, a list of participating employers and a map of the event layout. It is recommended that attendees bring a resume and dress professionally, as many businesses will be actively recruiting for a variety of positions.

Job seekers will have the chance to explore various industries, learn how their skills transfer across fields, and network with employers representing agriculture, automotive, education, health care, business, law enforcement, government, manufacturing, military and more.

With 77 percent of Iowa Central graduates staying within its service area, events like this career fair play a role in connecting local students and community members with local businesses.
