Fort Dodge house damaged by fire

A Fort Dodge house was damaged by fire Monday night.

No one was hurt in the fire at 1433 First Ave. N.

Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter said it was the fourth structure fire in eight days in the city.

The fire on First Avenue North was reported at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.

The fire involved a room on the second floor in the rear of the house, part of the attic and some of the roof overhang, according to Hergenreter.

He said the residents of the house were home when the fire started. He said they got out unharmed and were outside when the fire trucks arrived.

City police responded to the incident with firefighters.

The house is owned by Faith Rentals LLC, of Duncombe according to online records of the Webster County Assessor’s Office. It was built in 1896, according to those records.
