FD to host Developer’s Showcase
Event will showcase city for potential housing investments
More than 100 real estate developers, policymakers, builders, and community members are expected to participate today in Fort Dodge’s first ever Developer’s Showcase.
The event will focus on housing options in Fort Dodge and provide information and community tours to property developers.
“Having been named an Iowa Thriving Community, there are certain tax credits and incentives available to developers and we’re excited to meet with many of them,” said Vickie Reeck, the city’s community and economic development manager. “We’ll be providing tours and showing them different areas of the community as well as talking about our new housing assessment.”
Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, will also be meeting with developers at the Showcase to focus on the many benefits that Fort Dodge has to offer. Durham will speak at 2 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. A 3:15 p.m. community tour will be provided.
The Developer’s Showcase is open to property developers.
“We have a huge need for housing of all types and in all price ranges in Fort Dodge,” said Reeck. “We’re wanting to meet with and work with anyone interested in investing in the community.”
