Man gets 25 year prison term for sex abuse
Judge issues maximum sentence in Calhoun County case
MANSON — A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Calhoun County last summer.
Troy J. Holicky, 37, of Lamberton, Minnesota, received the prison sentence on Tuesday, according to court records and a statement from Calhoun County Attorney Ben Smith.
Holicky pleaded guilty to one count of second degree sexual abuse in October, according to court records.
On Tuesday, District Court Judge Angela Doyle gave Holicky the maximum possible prison sentence for that crime. She also ordered him to serve 70 percent of that sentence before being eligible for parole.
Doyle additionally ordered him to be placed on the state’s sex offender registry for his entire life.
Holicky assaulted the girl in early July in the rural Manson area, according to court records. He was arrested by Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies and was initially charged with four counts of second degree sexual abuse.
Rockwell City police assisted with the investigation. The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
