U.S. Highway 169 east of Harcourt will be closed for approximately two to three weeks for a culvert project beginning on Nov. 11.

HARCOURT — U.S. Highway 169 east of Harcourt will be temporarily closed beginning Nov. 11 for an Iowa Department of Transportation project.

According to Webster County Engineer Jamie Johll, the DOT will be replacing the culvert between Madison Avenue and Nelson Avenue. Traffic will be detoured onto Webster County roads P61 and D43.

The DOT has chosen Peterson Contractors Inc. from Reinbeck to complete the construction project.

Pending weather delays, PCI anticipates mobilizing the project the week of Nov. 4 and beginning construction Nov. 11. It is anticipated that the project will take approximately two to three weeks to complete.

A second culvert project is planned on U.S. Highway 169 southwest of Dayton, though PCI has indicated to Johll that it will not begin that project until 2025.

Starting at $4.94/week.
