Voters turn out for franchise fee vote
Three polling places are open today in Fort Dodge so that voters can weigh in on proposed utility franchise fees that would pay for hiring eight more police officers.
Webster County Auditor Doreen Pliner has stated that the Fort Dodge Community School District Administration Building, 109 N. 25th St., is overwhelmed with voters. She requests that voters use one of the other polling places:
• First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H.
• Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.
Citizens can vote at any one of those polling places.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
