Mourners silently watch as a procession of ambulances rolls through the Iowa Central Community College campus Wednesday morning in honor of Paul Arens. He was the emergency medical service coordinator at the college and trained many area emergency medical technicians and paramedics. He died Friday at age 49. The procession included units from Palo Alto County EMS, Southwest Webster EMS, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Kossuth County EMS, The Fort Dodge and Otho fire departments, Mary Greeley Medical Center and Lakes Regional Healthcare.
