This Halloween, people are invited to don their spookiest costumes and join in a night of fun and philanthropy at the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge's annual Costumes and Comedy Fundraiser.
On Oct. 26, the showroom at Shimkat Motor Co. will be transformed into a hub of entertainment and community spirit.
The event will be held at Shimkat Motor Company, 3126 Fifth Ave. S., with a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner, a dessert dash, auction, and a comedy performance by Wolfdog Comedy.
Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door, and are available now at Shimkat Motor Co. or online at CHCFD.com
The evening's dinner will include roast beef or chicken, cheesy hash browns, green beans, salads, and a dinner roll. Drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be a dessert dash, where an amazing assortment of sweets will be auctioned off.
Costumes are encouraged, though not required.
There will be raffle prizes including:
• An $800 prize package to Shimkat Motor Co. (a $500 gift certificate plus an auto detail).
• A $500 Fareway gift card.
• A $500 Hy-Vee gift card.
Raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100, with a total of 500 tickets available. Purchase them from health center staff, at Shimkat Motor Co., or online at CHCFD.com. Participants do not need to be present to win.
The online auction, running from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26, features a range of local gift certificates, services, and unique items.
The proceeds from this event will go toward purchasing a dental RV -- a mobile dental office equipped to provide essential dental care throughout the community. This RV will offer everything from preventive care to restorative services, bringing much-needed dental services to schools, nursing homes, and other underserved areas.
