O’Brien show to benefit Ronald McDonald House

Brady O’Brien Live and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa are teaming up to host an event at the Laramar Ballroom in Fort Dodge tonight.

The “Ronald McDonald House Gala” begins at 5 p.m. All proceeds from the evening’s festivities go to support the two new respite rooms opening at the UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge Trinity Regional Medical Center.

A cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres from Tea Thyme will be flanked by a silent auction, with bids closing at 8 p.m. Skilled pianist Brady O’Brien will take the stage at 6 p.m. with a presentation, followed by a RMHC announcement. O’Brien will then provide entertainment from 6:30 until 8 p.m.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa offers comfort and support to families with sick children. The new respite rooms will offer a local opportunity to care for those in need without experiencing added travel expenses.

Donations are welcome, with items in most need including paper towels, laundry detergent pods, coffee cups, granola bars, Swiffer wet pads, bleach, coffee creamer cups, single serving bags of chips, single serving cracker and cookie packs, single serving cereal boxes, fruit cups, shaving cream, hair brushes, baby shampoo, baby onesies, postage stamps and gift cards to Casey’s, QuikTrip, Kum & Go, Wamart, Target and Starbucks.

Tickets are $20 each. The Laramar Ballroom is located at 710 First Ave. N.
