Morgan Myles is set to perform Sept. 28 at the Downtown Country Jam in Fort Dodge. She said her upcoming performance will be a “full band show.”

Up and coming country singer Morgan Myles has never been on stage in Fort Dodge.

But she’s not exactly a stranger to the city.

Her performance at the Sept. 28 Downtown Country Jam will be her return to a community she has been able to get to know a little bit, thanks to her friendship with former Fort Dodge resident Danielle Huss.

In a phone interview with The Messenger, Myles recalled that she and Huss met in 2019 at an establishment in Nashville, Tennessee, called The Tin Roof after one of her shows.

“She just came up and started chatting with me,” Myles said.

“We’re very, very similar humans,” she added. “We just really connected. We’re kind of like the same person.”

She said she will be a bridesmaid in Huss’ wedding.

The last time she was in Fort Dodge, she said, was about two years ago when she went to a funeral. She has no doubt that her upcoming visit will be much more fun.

Myles said her upcoming performance will be a “full band show.”

“It’s very energetic,” she added.

The Downtown Country Jam, a project of Fort Dodge’s Shellabration Inc., is an outdoor concert held at the intersection of Central Avenue and Ninth Street.

Myles said she has performed many outdoor concerts and enjoys that kind of venue.

“I just love that everybody can be involved,” she said. “I love that there’s all ages.”

Myles said she will be singing songs from her soon-to-be-released album as well as some numbers from her appearance on “The Voice.” She also wants to meet her Fort Dodge area fans.

“I absolutely will do a meet and greet,” she said.

Her performance on “The Voice” in 2022 shifted her music career into a higher gear.

“I am the fastest four-chair turn in the history of ‘The Voice,'” she said.

Her performance of the song “Hallelujah” prompted judges like Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to spin around and show their approval.

She remembers trying to stay focused and calm in the minutes before she sang for those judges.

“I just went into myself,” she said.

She placed third in that competition. Danielle Huss and her mother, Dee Huss, went to Los Angeles to see Myles on “The Voice.”

The show led to other opportunities for Myles. Her single, “Vertigo,” was on the country music charts for 17 weeks last year.

Her other songs include “Holy Water,” “Acapella,” “Whiskey Dreaming,” “Sanctuary,” ” Two Words, One Finger,” and “Reap.”

Myles said she writes or co-writes every one of her songs.

Starting at $2.99/week.
