CLARION — Clarion Farmer’s Market is 9 to 11 a.m. SATURDAY on the lawn at the Wright County Courthouse, Main Street, Clarion.
LAKE VIEW — Stone Pier Summer Concert series presents The Band of Heathens with Cory Waller and The Wicked Things at 5 p.m. SUNDAY at Black Hawk Lake. There is no admission charge. Concertgoers are allowed to bring food and beverages to the picnic-style performances, food is available for sale with all proceeds directly benefitting the concert series.
BRITT — The 43rd annual Britt Draft Horse Show is TODAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, Britt. Gates open at 7 a.m. each day. Today at 6 p.m. is the youth and amateur show and the senior driver 4 horse hitch. Admission today is $2 for adults, $1 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under. Saturday’s events include youth groomer, youth showmanship classes and halter classes for hitch horses at 9 a.m. The draft horse grandstand show begins at 2 p.m. Sunday’s events include church services at 10 a.m. and draft horse grandstand show at 2 p.m. Admission on Saturday and Sunday is $10 for adults, $1 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under. Lunch will be available on the grounds.
CLARION — Wright County Conservation is holding a Labor Day Celebration from 2 to 10 p.m. SATURDAY at Lake Cornelia, Clarion. There will be games and activities for children and adults, educational programs, archery, canoes, BB guns, food, DJ, karaoke and fireworks show. The event is free and open to the public.
CLARION — Clarion AAUW annual Book Sale is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m TODAY and 8 a.m. to noon SATURDAY at 802 Fourth St. S.W., Clarion.
DAYTON — The 87th annual Dayton Rodeo opens at 5 p.m. TODAY, 10 a.m. SATURDAY, 5 p.m. SUNDAY and 10 a.m. MONDAY at the Dayton Rodeo grounds, Dayton. Rodeo performances are 7 p.m. today, 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 1:30 p.m. Monday. Performance tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children ages 5 and under.

FORT DODGE — Farmers Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at 11 N. 25th St.
FORT DODGE — Figure 8 Races are 6 p.m. SATURDAY at the Webster County Speedway, 22770 Old Highway 169. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is cash only. Grandstand admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children ages 5 and under. No food or drink is allowed in the grandstand gate. Food vendors will be available. Driver fees are $30, pit pass is $25. Pits open at 4 p.m. There will be a checkered flag giveaway for kids and autographs by the drivers prior to the race.
FORT DODGE — Lunch on Central is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. TODAY between the Webster County Courthouse and The Messenger in the 700 block of Central Avenue. The menu is beef brisket sandwich, pasta salad, potato chips and bottled water for $8. Desserts will be available for purchase from Main Street Fort Dodge board members.
FORT DODGE — The Western Iowa Labor Federation and Athletics for Education Success are holding a free Labor Day Community Cookout from 1 to 3 p.m. SUNDAY at AFES, 712 Third St. N.W. There will be burgers, hot dogs and more to celebrate workers and Labor Day. All community members are welcome.
