School board hears Dodger Stadium progress

Fort Dodge Community School District Superintendent Josh Porter gave an update on the continued work on the home side of Dodger Stadium Monday during the school board meeting.

Addressing the board at the Central Administration building, Porter noted the work order for a new pipe for drainage and a new table for the concession area. Both orders came to less than $4,000.

“Obviously both items were key to the continued progress of the stadium upgrade,” Porter said.

He later gave a full update on various areas of work being done including building block walls and electrical equipment preparing to be installed.

“It’s good to see this despite the large amount of rain we’ve had,” he said. “We need to keep this project moving along to its May of 2025 completion date.”

Among other amenities of the home side upgrade will be a new locker room and athletic training area, a new custodial closet and more overall storage as well as 75 extra parking lot spots being added with more lighting and even more security measures which includes video cameras.

“I’m sure fans will appreciate the increased parking and better lighting,” Porter said. “Any kind of extra security is a positive.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
