Iowa residents can try fishing without buying a license TODAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY as part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ free fishing weekend. All other regulations remain in place. Free fishing weekend is a great time to share the fun of fishing with a kid, your family or a friend.

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt Farmer’s Market is 8 a.m. to noon SATURDAY in downtown Humboldt.

LEHIGH — The Lehigh Methodist Church will be serving Second Sunday Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. SUNDAY for a freewill offering. The menu is loose meat sandwiches, beans, chips and dessert.

GOWRIE — Gowrie Citywide Garage Sales are 8 a.m. TODAY and SATURDAY in Gowrie.

CALLENDER — Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Callender, is holding its annual Garage Sale from 2 to 8 p.m. TODAY and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. SATURDAY at the church, west door.

CLARION — Clarion’s Festival is TODAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY in Clarion. There is a family fun night from 5 to 7 p.m. today on North Main Street. Saturday begins with a pancake breakfast at 6 a.m. at the fire station. The parade is at 10:30 a.m., followed by kidszone, car show and shine, stage entertainment and live music. Sunday worship is 9 a.m. at Gazebo Park (bring a lawn chair).

LIVERMORE — Livermore American Legion Otto Field Post 415 is holding a Breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. SUNDAY in the Livermore Legion basement. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and homemade cinnamon rolls will be served. Tickets are $10 per person.

EMMETSBURG — Emmetsburg Public Library, Emmetsburg, is holding Gaming After Hours from 2:30 to 5 p.m. SATURDAY. The program is for adult patrons. Light refreshments will be served.

In Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE — Farmers Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at 11 N. 25th St.

FORT DODGE — Figure 8 Races and Military Appreciation Night are 6 p.m. SATURDAY at the Webster County Speedway, 22770 Old Highway 169. Grandstand admission is cash only. Grandstand admission is $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for children ages 3-12. Veterans and active military receive $5 off grandstand admission. No food or drink is allowed in the grandstand gate. Food vendors will be available. Driver fees are $35, pit pass is $25. Pits open at 3 p.m.

FORT DODGE — St. Edmond Catholic School 2024 Respect for Life Garage Sale is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. TODAY and 8 a.m. to noon SATURDAY at the Corpus Christi Center, 403 N. Eighth St.

FORT DODGE — The annual Swing for a Cure Golf Outing is noon TODAY at the Fort Dodge Country Club, 370 Country Club Drive. Team registration is $400.

FORT DODGE — Karl L. King Municipal Band Concert is 7:30 p.m. SUNDAY at the Karl L. King Band Shell in Oleson Park. There is no admission charge, courtesy of the city of Fort Dodge. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be holding an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m. Persons attending are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. No seating is provided.

FORT DODGE — The Fighting Angels Abreast Breast Cancer Survivors Team is holding a Paddle Day at 6 p.m. SUNDAY on Badger Lake at Kennedy Park, 1415 Nelson Ave. Breast cancer survivors will have a chance to experience what dragon boating is about and will have a chance to paddle, or just ride, in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Those attending should bring water shoes or old tennis shoes. Life vests and paddles will be provided. Meet at the boat ramp. Family members and friends are welcome. FORT DODGE — The Blanden Art Festival is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. SATURDAY on the grounds of the museum at 920 Third Ave. S. There will be music performances, free activities, local and regional artists selling original works and food available for purchase. The event is free.

FORT DODGE — Hawkeye Community Theatre, 521 N. 12th St., presents “Bad Dates” at 7 p.m. TODAY and 2 p.m. SATURDAY. The play includes some language and other elements that may not be appropriate for children. Admission is $10.
