Dads, daughters work together at Nestle Purina

Larissa and Anthony Chardoulias

Father’s Day is a special time to celebrate those in our lives who raised us, loved us and guided us through life’s many ups and downs. As we grow older, personal and professional demands increase, we recognize that time is the greatest gift, and every Father’s Day celebrated together becomes more special.

For the lucky few who have an opportunity to work alongside their fathers , every day can feel like Father’s Day.

When not riding their motorcycles together after a shift, Scott and Lauren Underwood are a dynamic pair in the Fort Dodge Nestle Purina PetCare factory. Scott Underwood has been with Purina for 15 years and currently leads and assists with maintenance work tasks in packaging. Lauren Underwood, a processing supervisor, has been with the company for five years.

Her favorite part of working with her dad is to be able to talk and relate to each other when it comes to what they do in the factory. When asked about memories of working together, Lauren Underwood said “seeing how similar we are in our sense of humor and work ethic.”

Anthony and Larissa Chardoulias are a duo who work together inside and outside of the factory.

Anthony Chardoulias, a caser operator, inspired his daughter to apply after graduating high school. In fact, they sometimes commute together and enjoy connecting over their job.

When asked about working with her dad, Larissa Chardoulias, a caser integrated word group lead, said “I always joke that it’s my time to boss him around because he bossed me around all of my life.”
