Two officers hurt in incident

FD resident arrested

Two Fort Dodge police officers were injured and a police vehicle was damaged in an early Wednesday morning incident.

A Fort Dodge woman was arrested and faces a handful of criminal charges.

The incident happened at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Fifth Avenue South when police attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Jonetta R. Clark, 40, of 1269 Sixth Ave. N.

Clark rammed a Fort Dodge Police Department vehicle with her vehicle during the traffic stop, according to criminal complaints filed against her.

When officers attempted to remove her from her vehicle, she put it in reverse and began backing up, the criminal complaints state. At that moment, two officers were partially in her vehicle. As a result, one suffered an ankle injury and the other suffered a shoulder injury. Information on the condition of those officers wasn’t available Wednesday.

Clark was taken into custody, According to court records, she was charged with two counts of assault on persons in certain occupations – use or display of a weapon, second degree criminal mischief, and interference with official acts. She was booked into the Humboldt County Jail.

She made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Wednesday morning. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for her on April 26.

Magistrate William Habhab set her bond at $15,000 cash only.
