Chick-fil-A coming to Fort Dodge

Chicken sandwich chain latest addition to Corridor Plaza

Those who have been making the 70-mile trek to Ames to satisfy their craving for Chick-fil-A will soon no longer need to go further than the Corridor Plaza in Fort Dodge.

Officials confirmed in a press release that the third largest quick-serve restaurant company in the United States will join the project as the latest establishment.

Mayor Matt Bemrich showed his support for the project.

“I’m excited to see Chick-fil-A join the Corridor Plaza,” Bemrich said. “Their investment will be a great addition to the plaza and help Fort Dodge build its strong retail base in north central Iowa.”

With over 3,000 restaurants in 48 states, Chick-fil-A is the largest chain specializing in chicken sandwiches. The first was built in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1946.

“The arrival of Chick-fil-A at Corridor Plaza is a prime example of the exciting developments we plan to see continue in the near future,” City Manager David Fierke said. “This is just the beginning — great things take time and we’re thrilled to see our vision unfolding with such exceptional partners.”

Headquartered in Atlanta, the restaurant is known for creating a welcoming, remarkable experience that starts with friendly service, a warm welcome and quality food. The Fort Dodge location will offer their full menu, including classic favorites and new innovations all served with their signature approach to customer service.

A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A, Inc. said, “We look forward to working through the approval process and are excited by the prospect of joining the Fort Dodge community.”

Chick-fil-A restaurants are locally owned and operated, with 75 to 100 job opportunities being created in Fort Dodge.

Currently, Discount Tire, Clean Laundry, UnityPoint Health and Teriyaki Madness are among those businesses located at the Corridor Plaza. Plans are in the works for a $13 million indoor sports pavilion and the return of Dunham’s Sporting Goods in the future.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Chick-fil-A to our family of top-tier tenants at Corridor Plaza,” said BJ Stokesbary, spokesperson for the Corridor Plaza project. “Their commitment to quality, service and community engagement is a perfect match for our vision of delivering diverse and exceptional dining experiences to the residents of Fort Dodge.”
