Eight streets to be repaved in Fort Dodge

Portions of eight Fort Dodge roads, including a long stretch of North 22nd Street, will be repaved this year.

The City Council on Monday hired Fort Dodge Asphalt Co. to do the work at a cost of $975,625.10.

Fort Dodge Asphalt Co. was the only bidder for the project.

These streets will be repaved:

• Sixth Avenue North between Eighth and Ninth streets.

• Seventh Avenue North between Seventh and Eighth streets.

• Eighth Avenue North between Eighth and Ninth streets.

• North Eighth Street between Dakota Street and Eighth Avenue North.

• North 22nd Street between Timber Lane and North 25th Street.

• A Street West between Avenue N West and Triton Circle.

• Patterson Field Road between South 22nd Street and 18th Avenue South.

• South 17th Street north of 18th Avenue South.

The work will be done this summer and fall.

Councilwomen Jen Crimmins and Megan Secor were absent from the otherwise unanimous vote to award the contract.
