Montgomery launches bid for supervisor seat

Nathan Montgomery is emphasizing rural areas as he campaigns for the Webster County Board of Supervisors.

“The big driver for me is that the focus becomes Fort Dodge in a lot of things,” the Republican from Burnside said. “We have to collaborate and I have nothing against Fort Dodge but we have to be giving our rural communities help with things like agricultural issues and drainage.”

Montgomery faces Randy Andrews in the June primary election for the Republican nomination in District 2.

The winner will face Democratic Supervisor Mark Campbell in the November general election.

District 2 is much of the southern half of the county.

Montgomery said he believes voters there are looking for someone who “lives deeper in the district and will fight harder for the rural side of Webster County.”

Montgomery is a graduate of St. Edmond High School. He owns Montgomery Lawn Service LLC.
