The Shoe Sensation store will be moving across Fort Dodge to a spot very near to where it used to be for several years.

Shoe Sensation was one of the last two businesses in the former Crossroads Mall. Just before the center core of the mall was torn down, the store moved to 1513 Second Ave. N.

Now, it is moving back.

The developers of Corridor Plaza announced Thursday that Shoe Sensation will be moving into the Power Center there.

“Shoe Sensation is a perfect fit for the Power Center, aligning with our goal to offer a comprehensive retail experience,” said BJ Stokesbary, a spokesman for Crossroads Plaza Development LLC, of Ankeny.

“Their wide range of brand name shoes for men, women, and children caters to the diverse needs of the Fort Dodge community,” he added.

Mayor Matt Bemrich said relocating Shoe Sensation is a “testament to the progress and success of the project.”

What is today called the Power Center is the former Younkers wing of the mall. It is the only part of the mall still standing.

Dunham’s Sporting Goods, a former mall tenant that is returning to Fort Dodge, will open a 33,000-square-foot store that will fill about half of the Power Center.

Maurices, a womens clothing store that was also in Crossroads Mall, will reopen in the Power Center.

All of the stores are expected to open this fall.

There is room for one more store in the Power Center. Stokesbary said that store will be announced in the near future.

“Each addition brings a unique flavor to the shopping experience we are building at Corridor Plaza,” he said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
