EAGLE GROVE — A fatal shooting was reported early Saturday morning in Eagle Grove, according to a media release from the Eagle Grove Police Department.

At approximately 2:35 a.m. Saturday, the Eagle Grove Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a shooting incident which occurred on the 100 block of South Lucas Avenue.

The shooting incident resulted in the death of one male individual, the media release stated.

The victim has not been identified.

There is no threat to the public, according to the media release.

The EGPD requested the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation in reference to this investigation.

The Eagle Grove Police Department was assisted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Division of Criminal Investigation, Eagle Grove Ambulance Service and Quick Response Vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
