FD council to continue budget work tonight

The Fort Dodge City Council will continue reviewing the proposed budget for 2024-2025 when it meets this evening.

The council’s work will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a budget workshop.

The proposed budgets for development services, inspections, Municipal Building maintenance, the self-supported municipal improvement districts, sanitation, the central garage and the storm water utility will be discussed.

The council’s regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The agenda consists of routine items, such as the payment of various bills.

It will likely be the last council meeting of 2023. The council is not scheduled to convene again until Jan. 2, 2024. At that time, new council member Jen Crimmins will be sworn into office. Re-elected council members Megan Secor, Cameron Nelson, Dave Flattery and Kim Alstott will also take the oath of office.
