A Fort Dodge police officer shot three dogs that were attacking a woman late Friday morning.

The woman’s injuries were so severe that she had to be airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. in the 800 block of South 16th Street.
