FORT DODGE — The Fort Dodge Veterans Day observance will be held TODAY at St. Edmond Catholic School, 2321 Sixth Ave. N. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m., with music starting at 10:45 a.m. and the ceremony beginning at 10:59 a.m. Mark Thompson, a retired Marine Corps colonel from Clarion, will be the keynote speaker. St. Edmond students will perform patriotic music. The observance will conclude with a flag ceremony and rifle salute.
FORT DODGE — VFW Post 1856, 518 S. 29th St., will hold a bean and ham soup beginning at noon TODAY and continuing throughout the day. Freewill donations will be accepted.
FORT DODGE — Church of the Damascus Road Prison Ministry fall celebration will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. SUNDAY at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St.
