The Fort Dodge Veterans Day observance will be on Friday at St. Edmond Catholic School, 2321 Sixth Ave. N.

The doors will open at 10:30 a.m., with music starting at 10:45 a.m. and the ceremony beginning at 10:59 a.m.

The keynote speaker will be Mark Thompson, a retired Marine Corps colonel from Clarion.

St. Edmond students will perform patriotic music. The observance will conclude with a flag ceremony and rifle salute.

Following the ceremony, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1856 will serve bean soup and corn bread at the post’s building at Fifth Avenue South and 29th Street.
