Vehicles cross Veterans Bridge on First Avenue South in both directions Wednesday afternoon, a day after it reopened to traffic after being closed for eight months for a major repair project. The roughly $3.6 million project included work on the bridge’s deck, beams and piers. It also included improved drainage, new sidewalks, new curbs and new street lights.
