State Rep. Sexton endorses Trump
Will lead farmers group
State Rep. Mike Sexton announced Monday that he is supporting former President Donald Trump for re-election, and added that he is leading a group called Farmers for Trump.
Sexton, R-Rockwell City, made the announcement Monday during the Webster County Republican Party’s annual Ken and Jane Rasch Chili Supper.
“The United States has a weak, weak president who stumbles and fumbles,” Sexton said of President Joe Biden.
“The rest of the world sees what we do, and look what’s going on in the rest of the world,” he added.
Sexton said he is supporting Trump because of his record in office. He said when Trump was president, “Things were good. The world was stable. Things were normal.”
“None of the rest of the candidates have an understanding of how important agriculture is to the state of Iowa like President Trump does,” he added.
