Farmer’s Market Report
Saturday is last day for market
The 2023 season at the Fort Dodge Farmers Market was a huge success. This year, we had record numbers of vendors and customers alike. We would like to thank you, our patrons, for supporting the local small businesses that were represented at the market.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Today and Saturday are the last days of the market season. It will be your last chance to get fresh goods such as fruits, vegetables, and flowers. But, did you know that many other vendors have their products available year round? For example, honey and eggs can be purchased through the winter. Some produce vendors may still have winter squash and pumpkins, which keep for a few months.
With the holidays coming up, there is always so much to do. Perhaps some of the bakers from the farmer’s market can do your holiday baking for you.
Speaking of the holidays, many of our vendors have homemade gifts and crafts. You could get much of your Christmas shopping taken care of.
We encourage you to stop by the market and get business cards or contact information from the different vendors. If you don’t see your favorite vendor, you can contact David Ash at 520-406-3123 for information.
We are looking forward to next year’s Farmers Market. It will be our 40th anniversary. Vendors are already planning what to grow or make this next season. If you have thought about becoming a vendor, now is the perfect time for you to start thinking about what you could do. We would love to have you join us next year.
The market is held at 11 N. 25th St., northeast of Kemna Auto of Fort Dodge. Come join us today from 2 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are interested in being a vendor, please contact Kendal Pliner at 515-570-0058 or David Ash at 520-406-3123.
