This is not the first time Williams has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing someone in downtown Fort Dodge. He was arrested in July 2020 after a 39-year-old man walked into the Community Health Center with stab wounds to the neck and back. He was initially charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury and going armed with intent. Williams later pleaded guilty to the willful injury charge and was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison on April 19, 2021. The other charges were dismissed.
According to the Iowa Department of Corrections website, he was granted work release on Sept. 9, 2022, and was released on parole on Jan. 31 of this year.
