5 Fort Dodge school board seats up for election
Five seats on the Fort Dodge Community School District Board of Education will be on the Nov. 7 election ballot.
Seats currently filled by Angie Tracy, Bill Kent, Diane Pratt, Matt Moritz and Dan Altman will be on the ballot.
Nomination papers for the School Board seats are available from Board Secretary Adriana Utley at the Central Office, 109 N. 25th St. Candidates must obtain signatures from at least 50 qualified electors. Nomination papers are due by 5 p.m. on Sept. 21.
As of Tuesday afternoon, nomination papers have been filed for Pratt, Kent, Keenan Schuur and Brian Pederson.
According to the Iowa Association of School Boards, candidates must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age or older, a resident of the school district and eligible to register to vote. Information on running for school board can be found on the IASB’s website www.ia-sb.org.
