Teens arrested for harassment, shots fired
Two teens were arrested following an incident of harassment and shots fired outside a home in the 200 block of South 14th Street Wednesday night.
According to a press release from Fort Dodge Police Chief Dennis Quinn, an individual called the Webster County Law Enforcement Center around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night to report someone making threats outside their residence at that location. When officers arrived, they learned that a gunshot had been fired but no injuries were reported.
During the investigation, search warrants were executed at 1430 First Ave. N., and 1411 S. 26th St., with the assistance of the Special Emergency Response Team. As a result of the investigation, two teens were arrested and charged with a myriad of offenses.
A 15-year old boy was charged with:
• One count of attempted murder, a Class B felony
• Two counts of Assault While Participating in a Felony, a Class D felony
• Two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony
• Three counts of tampering with a witness, an aggravated misdemeanor
• Three counts of first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor
• One count of person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, a serious misdemeanor
• One count of reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor
A 14-year-old boy was also arrested and charged with one count each of tampering with a witness and first-degree harassment.
The names of the two boys have not been released by authorities.
