The Fort Dodge Community School District has named Lydia Schuur its Communications and Community Relations specialist. Schuur comes to the FDCSD from the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance, where she has served as its communications specialist for the last four and a half years. She has been responsible for all of the organization’s social media and print content during that time.
“We are thrilled to announce Lydia as the newest addition to our Dodger family,” FDCSD Superintendent Josh Porter said. “Lydia brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of communications to the table. We are confident she will play a key role in elevating our organization’s outreach efforts in the community while continuing to build relationships with Dodger kids, families, and teachers. She will strengthen our ties with the community we proudly serve, and tell our district’s story.
“Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Lydia.”
In addition to her time with the GFDGA, Schuur also currently holds an at-large position on the Fort Dodge City Council. She has served in that role since November 2017.
Schuur, a graduate of both Iowa Central Community College and Buena Vista University, is a Certified Digital Marketing professional and an AMA Professional Certified Marketer. Prior to her work with the GFDGA, Schuur was the outreach coordinator at the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge.
“I’m honored to join the Fort Dodge Community School District team,” Schuur said. “The FDCSD is full of dedicated adults, and I’m excited to collaborate with them to achieve the goals of the district and capture the #proud2beFD every day.”
Schuur and her husband, Keenan, have three children.
