The recent momentum of music at the Oleson Park Bandshell will continue on Friday, when Brady O’Brien Live presents its Rockin’ The Park concert to support Angel Ride To Save the Tatas.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Live music begins at 7:30 p.m., with a fireworks show concluding the festivities at 9:45 p.m.
This is a new installment of last summer’s One Nation Under God performance at Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park north of Fort Dodge. The Brady O’Brien Live team made the venue switch to accommodate a bigger vision for the event.
“This year, I wanted to create a show different from what I normally do,” said O’Brien, a 2022 St. Edmond High School graduate. “I decided to use a natural set-up designed for live music (at the Oleson Park Music Pavilion).
“I think this venue will help create an environment that is more of a ‘party’ compared to my other shows, which have been more of a sit-down style. It also allows us to do pyrotechnics, fireworks, T-shirt cannons, and more.”

A number of recognizable local names will perform, with standout vocalists Alyssa Allbee, Mikeal Campbell and Malaney Butrick joined on stage by musicians Mason O’Brien, Erik Lee and Jake Rossow.
Jesse Wilson will open at 7 p.m., with Emma Davis and Maya Neverman to follow before the headliners begin.
“I decided to design the show as a ‘new version’ of Brady O’Brien Live,” O’Brien said. “All of the music of the main act are rock anthems that almost every person would recognize, whether or not they listen to rock music. We even have taken songs from artists such as Garth Brooks and Tina Turner and given them new life.”
All proceeds from the event will go to Angel Ride To Save the Tatas, which provides support to breast cancer patients within a 75-mile radius of Fort Dodge.
“I chose to raise money for Angel Ride To Save The Tatas because they do some incredible things in our community,” O’Brien said. “I realized how much they do when my mom (Katrina O’Brien) went through breast cancer last year. I also attend their fundraiser every year on the annual ride.”

Laramar Ballroom will offer refreshments with a full-bar setup, and four food trucks — Kona Ice, Harley Ball, Pliner’s Kettle Corn and Nacho Daddy’z Tacos — are also being offered to fans in attendance this Friday.
Tickets for Rockin’ The Park — at the Oleson Park Bandshell six days after a successful Shellabration concert featuring Collective Soul — are available for $15 in advance through www.bradyobrienlive.com, or $20 at the gate. General-admission concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.
A full Brady O’Brien Live VIP exclusive experience is also being offered for $200, which includes access to an air conditioned lounge, indoor bathrooms, complimentary food and drink tickets, golf cart transportation, snacks, discounted merchandise, and front-row reserved seating. VIP parking is also available as an add-on.
VIP tickets must be purchased in advance through the website.
“I am very excited to perform at the Bandshell, both because of the long history of performances there and the sheer beauty of (the setup),” O’Brien said. “Shellabration has always been one of my favorite parts of Fort Dodge, and it has inspired me to want to perform in that same incredible location.”
