Beisch appointed district associate judge

Ashley Beisch

An assistant county attorney for Webster County has been appointed by Gov. Kim Reynolds to fill a vacant district associate judge position.

On Friday, Reynolds announced her appointment of Assistant Webster County Attorney Ashley Beisch as a district associate judge in Judicial Election District 2B, which covers Webster County and many of the surrounding counties.

“This appointment is humbling,” Beisch told The Messenger. “I am so very excited about this new role and am ready to get to work serving District 2B.”

Beisch, a Boone native, has been with the Webster County Attorney’s Office since May 2022. Prior to that, she worked in private practice in Ogden and Guthrie Center. She earned her law degree from the Drake University Law School in 2016.

“We’re very proud of Ashley and wish her well,” said Webster County Attorney Darren Driscoll. “Her appointment by Governor Reynolds is well deserved. I’m sure she will make us all proud in her new position serving the state as a District Associate Judge. She has been an important part of our team in the County Attorney’s Office. She will be missed.”

The vacancy on the district court bench is due to the upcoming retirement of District Associate Judge James Malloy. Reynolds’ announcement of the appointment did not say when Beisch will join the bench.

“I am so grateful to the Webster County Attorney’s Office,” Beisch said.” It has been a privilege to work alongside my amazing colleagues and support staff.”

Judicial District 2B includes much of north central Iowa, including Webster, Hamilton, Humboldt, Calhoun, Wright, Pocahontas and Sac counties.
