St. Edmond enrollment process is open

State ESA applications due Friday

Enrollment is open at St. Edmond Catholic School for the 2023-2024 school year for preschool, transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten through 12th grade.

St. Edmond Catholic School partners with families in providing their children a Catholic education, holistic formation, and a community in which Christian discipleship is the goal.

Enrollment can be completed through the school’s website — www.st-edmond.com — under admissions.

St. Edmond offers SEAS (Supervised Enrichment for Academic Success), a before/after school program open to St. Edmond students in 4-year-old preschool to eighth grade. SEAS is an academic enrichment program with a very specific purpose — success in school. SEAS pick-up times are flexible to accommodate working families.

SEAS hours are 2:55 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on all school days, with the exception of afternoon preschoolers who attend from 7:45 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. For more information regarding SEAS please call the school at 515-576-5182.

St. Edmond has partnerships and collaborative efforts with Iowa Central Community College and the Fort Dodge Community School District. High school students have the ability to take classes at the public school or from Iowa Central that are not offered on the St. Edmond campus. Additionally, some students also attend Iowa Central Community College’s Career Academy in Eagle Grove to specialize in a specific area.

Education Savings Accounts are available for all transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students, any public school student that transfers, and for those families with a household income at or below 300 percent of FPL, $90,000 for a family of four. The ESA funding amount is $7,635 per eligible student.

The ESA applications will be due on Friday for the 2023-2024 school year. Applications are valid for one year and a family must apply annually to remain eligible for the program.

‘Of all the investments we make as parents to prepare and protect our family, none is greater than the investment in their education and their Christian faith,” said Kate Stucky, director of operations and finance. “We choose to invest in a Catholic education for our children for many reasons, but the main one is that we want our children’s formative years to be spent in a place where prayer is accepted, abundant, unrestricted and encouraged. We want them to have not only an academic education, but a faith education that is fully integrated in their everyday lives. We want them to have a home away from home in a place that will help keep them grounded, humble and merciful to others.

“The faculty at St. Edmond have a great love for the students,” she added. “They truly believe in the importance of including Christ in the classroom. Their love for our school is shown in their dedication and commitment to shaping the hearts and minds of our youth.”
