Duncombe man sentenced to 22 years for lascivious acts, indecent contact

Douglas Ewing

A Duncombe man who pleaded guilty to three counts of lascivious acts with a child last month has been sentenced to up to 22 years in prison.

Douglas Allan Ewing, 59, was arrested in June 2022 and charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, Class B felonies. He was set to go to trial in early May, but on the eve of trial, he entered a guilty plea to three counts of lascivious acts with a child, Class C felonies. In a separate case involving a third victim, Ewing also pleaded guilty to indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor.

On Monday, Ewing was sentenced in Webster County District Court by District Court Judge Christopher Polking. Ewing received a 10-year prison sentence for each lascivious acts charge and a two-year prison sentence for the indecent contact charge.

In concurrence with sentencing recommendations from both the prosecution and the defense, Polking ordered that the sentences for two counts of lascivious acts with a child run concurrent with each other, and for one count of lascivious acts and the misdemeanor to run consecutively, for a total of up to 22 years in prison.

Ewing will also be required to register as a sex offender.
